My Dad has collected old maps for years. He hangs the maps in his "Den of Cartography". I thought it would be neat for him to see himself as a Captain of a ship. He has traveled to many far off places.

Artist Statement : David Worman
I started by wanting to make frames that complimented their pictures. That evolved into wanting pictures and frames that worked together as a unified whole. Removing the boundary between picture and frame, over-lapping and blending them together into one.

My art is about painting subjects I enjoy, nature, little animals and nudes. Painting the human figure is very awe inspiring to me. It amazes me how one can depict the body using paint. I like to paint places I've been to, had a picnic, sat and had a glass of wine.
About Me : David Worman
I studied Film, Television and Animation at The Evergreen State College in Olympia Washington and UCLA Dept. of Motion Picture and Television, where I also studied computer animation. I worked at Sony Pictures Imageworks for 15 years doing Pre-Visualization, Titles, Multi-Media and for the last 8 years I did Motion Picture Special Effects on over a dozen movies. Recently I changed direction, studying carpentry for two years at Los Angeles Trade Tech College. I am now more interested in building real things, instead of only make believe on the computer for movies.
